Dating success stories!
Derek and Linda
We both shared a passion for music, sailing and travelling and when we finally made contact we realised that we had both taken part in the same geography course in Pembrokeshire forty years earlier! Since meeting we've travelled many countries together, and it was during our time abroad that Derek, very romantically, proposed. We had flown to New Zealand to see Derek’s family and celebrate New Year’s Eve in Queenstown. As we crossed the lake on a steamboat Derek got down on one knee, to the surprise and delight of all those on board, including his grandchildren, he presented me with a beautiful engagement ring. Keeping the wedding local means so much to us and we have chosen a lovely Queen Anne style house. Derek will be making a three tiered wedding cake, including a top tier of Cornish Yarg cheese! After the wedding we will fly off to the lovely Isles of Scilly for a few days, where we will start planning our next adventure...

Delfina and John
A few years ago I came across your website and I found someone very interesting. We are now inseparable and he spends every weekend with me. I had been a widower for a long time, and internet dating was a very safe way to meet future partners.

Sue and Bob
I met Sue through your website, I was attracted to her looks and musical interests. Thankfully it was mutual attraction. The first date went very well, except for the unexpected arrival of her twin brother and his partner so we ended up having a meal together, I hadn’t planned to meet her family so quickly! We have been together ever since and married this year.

Heather and Philip
I joined Friends over Fifty and was put in contact with Phillip. I lived in Kenya and told him I was actually flying to UK the next day. I arrived in London and after chatting on the phone several times he came down from Inverness to meet me. We had a really nice weekend walking round London, sightseeing etc. and as he left at the end of the weekend he kissed me - and then we both knew this was special. I flew back to Kenya, he to Inverness but within three weeks I was back to see him. We completely fell for each other having both come from Africa - he left South Africa ten years previously. He came out to Kenya for two months and we decided this was right. He asked me to marry him six months later at the Waterfront in Cape Town on New Years Eve 2009 under a Blue Moon! We now live together in Kenya.

Jane and Steve
Steve's profile stood out to me because it seemed like he has a good sense of humour. When we finally met up it was instant rapport, we talked in the pub for hours. I was totally smitten, Steve drove to my house the next day and our relationship went from strength to strength. Steve has been so good for me, given me back my self confidence, we are currently building an extension so that our large family can stay when they visit.

Marion and Brian
Our first date was a December day in Maldon and we knew that there was something between us. Brian is very intelligent, fun and independent – he would probably say the same about me. Our good fortune is cherished every day and our happiness has encouraged another family member to take the plunge, and try to find a suitable partner on the internet. They look as though they will have a similar happy ending. I hope our story will encourage other single people to try to find that special person to share their life.

Jean and Brian
When we first met we were completely at ease and chatted like long lost friends. We soon decided that we wanted to be together permanently, Brian telephoned one evening and said 'why are you there alone and I am here alone?' Brain moved in with me soon after this and we now love happily together.

Liz and Ricky
After a few months of meeting we decided that we wanted to be together all of the time. We found a house that we both loved and haven’t looked back since – we have holidayed all round the world and love being together. I can’t imagine any way we would have met if it hadn’t been for Friends Reunited.
